Dickers, her husband, and my brother-in-law, father to Laurie, stepfather to Julie and David, grandfather to four children, was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago.  At the same time, an aneurysm about to burst in his stomach was discovered and he underwent surgery for that. After voting, I headed toward downtown Homer to check my mail at the post office.  I noticed a fairly good-size clump of people in the park right on the corner of Pioneer and Lake.
